Chairman's welcome message

Dear colleagues,

The Moroccan Society of Cardiology is organizing its 27th National Congress from October13th to 15th 2022, alongside the 23rd Pan-African Interventional Cardiology Course(PAFCIC) directed by the Professor H. GAMRA.

The Moroccan Society of Cardiology looks forward to welcoming you in Tangier, a Moroccan city nestled in the calm of the forests between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. This city has been a crossroad of civilizations, earning it the name of «the pearl of the north ».

The Moroccan Society of Cardiology has been working hard for many months to develop an attractive scientific program worthy of national and foreign congress attendees. This 27th edition will see the participation of many renowned speakers from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia or just say: from all over the world. Over a two-and-a-half days, scientific novelties of the year in several subspecialties, such as heart failure, sport cardiology, valvular diseases, congenital heart diseases, rhythmology and connected medicine and more, will be discussed.

The congress will put an emphasis on presenting the new European guidelines, which will be available from the end of August 2022. The originality of the congress is highlighted by the following:
• Interventional cardiology will be widely present through the parallel program and sometimes simultaneously with the PAFCIC via live transmissions;
• a session for young cardiologists with a prize for the best research work;
• a 2nd part of the rhythmology courses dedicated to atrial fibrillation;
• and a "master class" in cardio-oncology.

Furthermore, the shift to the English language is essential for a wider reach within the scientific world, just as is the choice of Tangier as a host city : a multicultural place for science but also for friendship. In fact, the Kingdom of Morocco, known for its warm and welcoming hospitality, offers the ideal conditions for science to be exchanged in the best of conditions.
